It took me a while to find an actual "news" story that even mentioned the Pot Cave. It is here www.maconcountytimes.com. The story looks to be over a year old.

I kind of think the images were police photos that were not released untill much later... Just my thinking.

How in the world did they find this???

The guys were stealing electricity by illegally tapping into a power line. The electric company noticed more juice being used than was being paid for on that line and traced it back to this property. That's how they got caught. It is explained in the news story links posted by others. This site doesn't allow hyperlinking, so you have to copy and paste the addresses of the links to your browser's address bar.
It was a nice setup. If they hadn't gotten greedy and tapped into the electricity illegally, they might still be in business.
