2007 WORLD’S UGLIEST DOG NAMED! BEAUTIFUL BIG WIN FOR UGLY LITTLE ELWOOD, SECOND RUNNER UP IN 2006 CONTEST
(Petaluma, CA – June 22, 2007) A large crowd of fans and press anxiously assembled around the Kiwanis Park Stage at the Sonoma-Marin Fair well before 6:30 pm Friday night in anticipation of a favorite annual event, The World’s Ugliest Dog Contest.
In the end, that same crowd went wild when their clear favorite, Elwood a Chinese Crested and Chihuahua mix, took not one but three prizes—first place in the Mutt Class, Ugly Dog of 2007, and finally the coveted position of World’s Ugliest Dog in this 19th annual event.

i think it's really unfair of people to look at animals, like this one, and say or think horrible things about them due to their appearence...you wouldn't walk upto a disabled person and insult them because of how they looked...why is it any different where an animal is concerened? they have feelings too!
people need to take a step back and realise that they aren't perfect either...

...to the last comment about "why is it any different where an animal is concerned?"...umm, let me think, oh yeah, they are ANIMALS! They aren't human, and it is a person who has unhealthy mind that would think to associate dogs or any other animal as on par with humans. That is one of the major things wrong with today's society.

Humans are animals FACT
Animals are people MY Opinion
Animal feel a full range of emotions FACT
And yes most(not all) non-human animals don't come close to our human intelligence, YET because of human intervention over thousands of years (Artificial Selection) we now have many Breeds of Dog that do have SIGNIFICANT Intelligence. HECK my dog knows the numbers 1-7, I throw a stick and say bring me 5 SHE DOES (Anything higher and the success rate is reduced but 100% accuracy counting 1-5 is SIGNIFICANT)
